Economic Development Toolbox for Envision Utah

Envision Utah - an award winning public-private quality growth initiative located in Salt Lake City - contracted with FutureWorks to develop materials for an Economic Development Toolbox for local economic development practitioners. FutureWorks developed a "Case Statement on Regionalism" for the toolbox. The Case Statement discusses why public officials and private sector leaders in the Greater Wasatch Area must begin to think and act regionally. FutureWorks also produced profiles of three metropolitan regions (St. Louis, Chicago and the Bay Area) that have developed and implemented institutional mechanisms for jurisdictional collaboration and coordination to promote regional approaches to economic development. This project commenced in the fall of 2003 and concluded in the spring of 2005.
